4. SMS/Text Messaging

If you provide your phone number and join an SMS group, you consent to receive text messages from BoardyBoard. Messages may include game night reminders, scheduling nudges, group coordination, and responses to your questions.

We will not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. SMS messaging is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS SNS).

5. AI Processing

BoardyBoard uses artificial intelligence services (Amazon Bedrock) to process your messages and generate responses.

• Your chat messages are sent to AI services for processing.
• We do not use your messages to train AI models.
• AI-generated responses are for informational and entertainment purposes only.
• Board game data used in responses is sourced from BoardGameGeek.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud hosting, database storage, AI processing (Bedrock), and SMS delivery (SNS)
• BoardGameGeek (BGG): Board game data, ratings, and information via their API

These services have their own privacy policies.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on AWS servers in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.

Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for analytics.

• Access your personal data through the app
• Request deletion of your account and data

10. Cookies and Local Storage

The BoardyBoard web app uses local storage to save your preferences (such as theme settings). We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
